I don’t know about you but I have struggled to refocus during this crazy season we are in. Finding a routine and sticking with it has been hard. Things around us are on a stand still, however time waits for no man. Even though we are not able to follow our day to day routines we have developed over the years, we can still create a routine at home during this time to stay sane and continue to thrive during this season.
The following are quick steps you can take to establish an easy At-Home routine.
1. Establish Your Time With God:
During this time I have come to realize there are areas in my life that I need to re-invite the Lord into. One of the areas was FAITH!! The past couple of days I have relearned what having faith means and the importances of it. I encourage you to do the same.
There is no better time like now to dig deep and start developing that intimate relationship with the Lord. Lean on him during this time and draw peace and rest from him. Reestablish your relationship with the Lord.
2. Set Boundaries:
For some of you it is easy to overwork from home. That is why it is important to set boundaries/times of when you work. If you do not take time to set boundaries then you will invest all your time working and neglect other areas of your life.
Whether you’re working from home or not LIFE is about balance. This is a perfect time for you to learn about balancing out your work, spiritual walk, health, and social life. Taking time to get organized and set boundaries will bless your day to day life.
3. BE Consistent:
If building a house, getting a degree, or writing a book took a day then we would be very successful humans. The truth is everything takes time and building an effective routine at home is no different. Being consistent with your new routine is extremely important.
There will be days where you will feel tired and don’t want to follow a routine and that’s okay. There will be a day or two where you will miss time with God or didn’t finish your assigned work and that is absolutely okay.
There is always tomorrow to start new, start fresh. Give your self grace, time to breathe, room to make mistakes, and keep moving forward. But don’t let yourself keep putting something off for “tomorrow” if you know good and well you’re not going to follow through. Be intentional and mean what you say!
Don’t quit. FIGHT for your Routine! Fight to be healthy, fight past laziness, fight to spend time with your family, fight for boundaries, and keep fighting because YOU are worth it.
Just like you I am also working on my routine at home. There are days where I don’t want to get out of bed, and then there are days where I get up and write an encouraging blog POST like this one. I have learned that I can’t focus so much on what I didn’t accomplish yesterday. Instead I can take that energy and focus on creating and being productive today.
My hope is as you read the words above, you were blessed, refreshed, and are now ready to slay your routine next time. There is no time like now to turn our thoughts and GOALS into actions. Go Thrive!!
With Love & Understanding, -Winnie.
